I just ran into Vince L. at Canal Place. He said that the Inn on Decatur is the best breakfast on the trail and the nicest place to stay. His only drawback was he wanted to eat everything this morning and had to postpone his time for leaving because he ate too much. LOL!

We had a lovely time here and really ppreciate the kindness and hospitality you extended to us.
My wife, Suzanne, and I stayed at The Inn on Decatur for a couple nights this August. We had a wonderful time on the GAP, and really enjoyed our days in Cumberland—especially relaxing at your lovely inn. The food was wonderful and so was your company & hospitality. We look forward to coming back someday and still dream about the colors with which you filled the rooms at the Inn, and watching trains from the 2nd floor back porch.
Thank you for a lovely stay-the room, the breakfast, your advice…all wonderful! Sorry about the keys!
Joe & Summer
I wanted to thank you for an excellent weekend and bike ride Oct 5-7th. We enjoyed the hot breakfast and the packed lunch. Having a place to wash up after our ride on Sunday also made the trip home so much nicer. I enjoyed some of the bath salts and lotions while I was there so if you get a chance can you email me the name and manufacturer of the bath salts (it had eucalyptus in it) and also the lotion which had menthol in it. Thanks again for a great weekend.
Awesome stay! Thanks so much for everything.
P.S. The coffee was wonderful!

Just clearing my emails and wanted to let you know what a wonderful stay we had at your B&B. It was a perfect night topped off with a scrumptious breakfast. Only wish I had more room in my tummy. ha ha Thanks for everything. You are truly meant to do this. Take care and thank you for everything!

Just a note to let you know that we had a great trip. Thanks for all the arranging. The B&B's were wonderful, comfortable and had friendly owners. The food was really good also. Just so you know, it was a 25 mile walk into Myersdale from the trail crossing you drove us to. Perfect.Rhea developed blisters after the first 25 mile day, so we ended up biking the remainder of the trip. The bikes were from Confluence Cyclery. Brad Smith was very helpful and accommodating. Thank you again for your hospitality and help in the arrangements. Mark and Rhea V.
Thank you so much.We loved staying here.We will surely be recommending you to our friends.

A belated thank you for assisting my friend, Steve Kreseski, when we arrived in Cumberland last on the Saturday evening on Memorial Day weekend without hotel reservations.Your inn was full but you were tremendously kind in assisting Steve and I in finding a place at the Trail Inn in Frostburg. It was nice of you to take time to assist us and I will be certain to recommend the Inn On Decatur to my friends who might be making their way to Cumberland.Having just done a 100 mile ride that day, and arriving in Cumberland in the dark, you truly were a God send.Best wishes for a happy and profitable summer.

Gail, Up to our recent adventure of riding the GAP and C&O from Pittsburgh to DC, Linda and I didn't have a great deal of B&B experience. Well, we still are not quite qualified to write a book on the subject, but I can tell you this.... we stayed at four different B&B's on our journey and yours was flat out the best. Now that's not to say that the others were bad, it's just that yours was that much better. You were the only host that knew that a quality stay at a B&B was more than a clean, well decorated room and a pleasant breakfast. So much has to do with the warmth and positive energy of the host. When we left to continue on our journey, we felt that we were leaving a friend and one that we would again like to visit in the future. O.K., now about that breakfast. Indeed.....the breakfast! I have personally stayed at some exceptional Hotels in New York, Beverly Hills, Las Vegas and a few in Europe. I can honestly say that I can't remember enjoying a finer breakfast at any of those places more than the culinary masterpiece that you prepared for us. You may recall that Linda is a survivor of a brain aneurysm and four years ago was laying in a coma given only a 50/50 chance of survival. We decided to name this ride "Linda's Coma to Capital ride". Our stay at the Inn on Decatur certainly added a wonderful element of color and hospitality for our story. Thanks again Gail. Jon and Linda D.
Ernie and i wanted to send our appreciation for letting us stay at your B&B during our bike trip...It was a wonderful stay and great breakfast. Your husband and Housekeeper took good care of us!! We were sorry we did not meet you....but hope to do the trail again in the opposite direction next time PA to DC!! It was a wonderful experience! Thanks very much for the Trailbook, too...it helped us greatly! Hope to meet up with you again someday! Take care and happy trails,
Sheila and Ernie G.
Thanks for a comfortable and relaxing stay at the Inn on Decatur. The bed was great, and we loved the snacks and guest kitchen which was stocked with anything we needed. The breakfasts were delicious, and your kindness, enthusiasm, and knowledge of the Cumberland area helped us to have a great time. This was a perfect get-away.

Thank you for a great respite in Cumberland. We loved your beautiful B&B and would recommend it highly. Tastefully decorated, clean, home-like conveniences and amenities, within walking distance of downtown, quiet (especially at night). I can't believe we didn't think to get a picture of it with you and Steve. Cumberland and staying at your place were a definitive highlight of our trip. Thanks for all you did to make our stay comfortable and luxurious.
Thanks for such a clean, lovely accommodation.
Arrived safely back in California after a wonderful tour along the C&O Tow Path and GAP. Although we had lots a rain, we enjoyed the tour and the hospitality of B&B's like yours. Thanks for making our stay in Cumberland a memorable one.
