Experience the renaissance of Cumberland with us. Just two blocks from the Downtown Cumberland pedestrian mall, filled with cafés restaurants and shops, Decatur Street is filled with the energy of transformation. Our Inn is casual and comfortable. A second story porch overlooks a fantastic view of the city and the comings and goings of the trains. It’s the perfect spot for sipping that first cup of fresh-brewed coffee in the morning or winding down your day as you enjoy your favorite adult beverage (or two).

Our rooms are large and spacious. Our bathtubs are ideal for soaking after your busy day. Our beds are Serta® pillow-tops; a guarantee for the best night’s sleep.

We prepare a full-sized breakfast described as one of the best on the trail. Some favorites on the menu include challah French toast, apple crisp, fresh fruit, the list goes on. Savor the flavor of our fresh ground Nicaraguan French Roast coffee. We serve Community Tee, shipped directly from New Orleans. We are happy to accommodate your special dietary requests.

As a local tour guide, owning both Mountain Getaway Tours and Mountainside Bike Tours (www.mountainsidebiketours.net), I can provide for you as much information (or as little) about our town’s history, economics and hopes for the future. We can package your visit whether it’s biking (rentals available), hiking, golf, history, theatre, special events/festivals, a ride on the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad, the arts or just relaxing; you can trust our suggestions. I am more than happy to provide a complimentary walking/driving tour of our historic city…just ask.

TESTIMONIALS

Hi Gail,

Thank you for making our stay at the Inn so pleasant.  We most truly enjoyed our weekend, more than we expected.  Your breakfasts were absolutely wonderful!  Carol was sad to leave, and Steven, who thought he couldn’t live without his TV, actually admitted he was having fun playing games & doing crossword puzzles together.  We all agreed we would love to come back again!  Thank you, Gail & Steve for creating such a lovely retreat.  Best Regards,

Danny & Karen; Steven & Carol

Dear Gail,

Just wanted to say once again how much we enjoyed our stay at the Inn On Decatur.  Everything was wonderful, the room, the food, the hospitality.  We appreciated in particular, your extending us the courtesy of leaving our bags at the Inn and taking a quick shower before our return home on Friday.  This was the first time we’ve traveled with bikes, and being able to make shuttle arrangements through you really helped.  We will recommend the Inn to any and all interested parties, and hope to stay there again soon.  Best Regards,

Leigh P.

Dear Gail:

A belated thank you for assisting my friend, Steve Kreseski, when we arrived in Cumberland last on the Saturday evening on Memorial Day weekend without hotel reservations.  Your inn was full but you were tremendously kind in assisting Steve and I in finding a place at the Trail Inn in Frostburg.  It was nice of you to take time to assist us and I will be certain to recommend the Inn On Decatur to my friends who might be making their way to Cumberland.  Having just done a 100 mile ride that day, and arriving in Cumberland in the dark, you truly were a God send.  Best wishes for a happy and profitable summer

Hi Gail!

I want to thank you again for offering us a clean, warm place to stay after our long bike ride. Your breakfast was just what we needed to make it back up the hill to Frostburg, and then on to Meyersdale. We will be sure to refer you to our friends. Thanks again!

Gail,
Up to our recent adventure of riding the GAP and C&O from Pittsburgh to DC, Linda and I didn't have a great deal of B&B experience. Well, we still are not quite qualified to write a book on the subject, but I can tell you this.... we stayed at four different B&B's on our journey and yours was flat out the best. Now that's not to say that the others were bad, it's just that yours was that much better.
You were the only host that knew that a quality stay at a B&B was more than a clean, well decorated room and a pleasant breakfast. So much has to do with the warmth and positive energy of the host. When we left to continue on our journey, we felt that we were leaving a friend and one that we would again like to visit in the future.
O.K., now about that breakfast. Indeed.....the breakfast! I have personally stayed at some exceptional Hotels in New York, Beverly Hills, Las Vegas and a few in Europe. I can honestly say that I can't remember enjoying a finer breakfast at any of those places more than the culinary masterpiece that you prepared for us.
You may recall that Linda is a survivor of a brain aneurysm and four years ago was laying in a coma given only a 50/50 chance of survival. We decided to name this ride "Linda's Coma to Capital ride". Our stay at the Inn on Decatur certainly added a wonderful element of color and hospitality for our story. Thanks again Gail.

Gail,

Thank you for a great respite in Cumberland. We loved your beautiful B&B and would recommend it highly. Tastefully decorated, clean, home-like conveniences and amenities, within walking distance of downtown, quiet (especially at night). I can't believe we didn't think to get a picture of it with you and Steve. Cumberland and staying at your place were a definitive highlight of our trip. Thanks for all you did to make our stay comfortable and luxurious!

Hi Gail,

Arrived safely back in California after a wonderful tour along the C&O Tow Path and GAP. Although we had lots a rain, we enjoyed the tour and the hospitality of B&B's like yours. Thanks for making our stay in Cumberland a memorable one.

Dear Gail,
Thank you for making my stay at your B&B so delightful. The Internet does no justice to "my room". The room materials create a relaxing atmosphere. Your sightseeing suggestions proved to be excellent choices. Thank you for making my trip to Cumberland so memorable. Your attention to detail will continue to make you outstanding in the hospitality/tourism field. I wish you continued success. Thank you again for a special time.
